Damaria Senne has worked for almost three decades as a freelance writer and journalist. She was a senior journalist for ITWeb, an IT business media house for a number of years, an environment that introduced her to online publishing. Her work there was nominated for several awards including MyBroadband Journalist of the Year (Finalist, 2006) and Telkom Journalist of the Year (Finalist, 2006, Digital Category).
Over the course of her career, she assisted a number of organisations including the Soul City Institute, Charities Aid Foundation Southern Africa and Tshwaranang Legal Advocacy Centre to take their messages to an online audience with websites, blogs and short videos. She also promoted numerous social causes, artists, small and medium businesses through her blog, which she launched in January 2006. Her online work for these causes was recognised through a nomination for the Mbokodo Awards (2013 Digital Category Finalist).
Damaria has also published a number articles with magazines such as Fair Lady, True Love, Femina, BONA, Brainstorm and Built. She continues to work with local, national and international organisations to assist them to develop content for their online publications.
To keep up to date with the changing environment in which web content writers and bloggers operate in, she recently completed an online course in Video Production for Journalists in the Digital Age with the Knight Center based at the University of Austin, Texas, in the United States of America.
