‘This course met my objectives exactly. It was well laid out, including a manageable amount of learning per module. I was very happy with my tutor Lisa, her eye for accuracy was excellent and her comments were honest but helpful. This course has enabled me to take a step further in my aim of freelance writing – I now have the technical tools and confidence to achieve this.’ Fran Weerts, The Basics of Feature Writing

‘I enjoyed the course. I am happy I had Lisa as a tutor; I thought she was lovely. She was very helpful and honest at all times. I think it is an amazing institute and great way to learn. I would suggest to future students to make a point of keeping a schedule to work from, so that the flexibility doesn’t get too flexible.’ Gente Coetzee, Magazine Journalism Course

‘It was a challenging experience for me. I stretched myself and gained new skills. I found my tutor Lisa extremely approachable and ready to offer any input as required by me. She is professional and knowledgeable of her subject. She gave constructive feedback and I learnt a lot from her excellent suggestions. The ease and convenience of this online course was a pleasure.’ Moira Vallet-Goldstein, Basics of Feature Writing Course

‘This was my first exposure to any sort of writing course, and in my opinion, without a doubt the best value for money I have received in a while. The prompt feedback from Mr Turenhout put my mind at ease with any admin related issues. Only the most professional interaction was given during the entire course. The guidance, notes and corrections I received from my tutor made all the difference. Lisa has the experience and knowledge that I needed to push me out of my comfort zone and allow me to grow. The course has provided me with the motivation to keep writing.’ Leonore Roux, Basics of Feature Writing

‘The course was easily understandable and very accessible. My tutor Lisa was extremely supportive and helpful. She was very prompt with responses and a pleasure to work with. I recommended the Writers’ College to others.’ Kayleigh Snyman, Basics of Feature Writing Course

‘It was a daunting task to begin my autobiography/memoir course at retirement age. Yet Lisa gave me tools, encouragement and hope. She cared about my efforts and I felt comfortable under her guidance. Lisa guided me to link all pivotal personal floating memories into a logical structure, which helped me to sit down and write instead of procrastinating. Through the writing, I learnt the valuable lesson – to hear, recognise and trust my voice. Thank you, Lisa, for your constructive criticism, your kindness, your sense of humour, and just for being who you are – a gifted and empathetic tutor.’ Luba Roth, Write Your Memoir Course
